“I feel like generations give up on each other,” she told Elle, “If you’re Gen Z, you’re like, ‘Gen X is never gonna get it.’ If you’re Gen X, you’re like, ‘Those Millennials are such idiots.’”
She has a point — how many “Millennials Are Ruining the World” articles have we seen this year alone?
Yara went on to talk about being a teenager with a smart phone, and what that experience is like compared to past generations.
“I call most teenagers ‘young entrepreneurs’ because from a young age we’re aware that our social media is building our brand,” she explained. She also defended being “self-centered” and taking selfies, because in order to “promote…anything…that’s what we’re gonna do because we’re living by the example set by others, and by what we’re seeing.”
In other words, if a selfie will help you change the world, you might as well smize and get as many likes as you can.
