Cara Delevingne Wants to See More Girls & Women in the Film Industry
OK, first of all, we’re totally loving Cara Delevingne‘s shaved head and neck tattoo.
The model stepped out for the Magnum party at Magnum Beach during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival last night (May 18) in Cannes, France, donning a black gown and dark lipstick.
She was joined by Moschino Creative Director Jeremy Scott.
(Check out the daytime black dress she wore for the Magnum x Moschino bag capsule collection launch earlier that day.)
At the event, Cara revealed that she is still working on her adult novel Mirror, Mirror, which she is co-writing.
“We are constantly adding pieces,” Cara told Vanity Fair. “I am picking a cover at the moment. But it’s going to be incredible, and I hope it will be made into a movie one day. [I would] maybe [direct] … that would be cool. There are a few things I am writing. I want to do a lot of films involving strong female characters. I think that is important. I also want to work with a whole female crew, female D.P., female everything.”
“I just want to help create more jobs, more opportunities for women in the film industry,” Cara went on. “I want to get more women’s voices, more women’s stories out there. … There are a lot of female directors I look up to so it would be cool to work with them. … Angelina Jolie is incredible. She is one of my biggest inspirations. She was one of the people that I want to do something with. Also Andrea Arnold, who did American Honey. And Kathryn Bigelow. There aren’t enough female directors, and it makes me sad.”
“[Angelina and I have] had a funny back and forth through the people we know in common. But I would love to meet her,” Cara added.
FYI: Cara is wearing Moschino.
