Flashback Friday: See How 'Reign' Star Adelaide Kane Got Her Big Break
Adelaide Kane wasn’t always Mary, Queen of Scots on Reign, or Cora Hale on Teen Wolf.
Way back before she hit US television screens and completely won us over, she starred on Neighbours – and the story about how she got that role is something like a Cinderella story.
In 2006, Adelaide actually entered a talent contest, which was sponsored by Dolly magazine, and the grand prize was an opportunity for the winner win a role on the long-running Australian soap opera.
“It all went very quickly once I’d gotten through the first round,” Adelaide shared in 2007, after she decided to leave the series only after a short time.
She adds, “There were 4 auditions in total with the final ten boys and girls flying to Melbourne for the last and final audition. By the time the announcement came I had already convinced myself that another girl had gotten the part.”
“I was pretty sure they’d made a mistake when they called my name! It was hugely unexpected.”
However, she did have to leave the series after her grades started to slip. Thankfully, she got those up and then headed east, where she won a role on Power Rangers R.P.M..
