AGT Singer Chase Goehring Was Inspired By Two Very Different Musicians For His Music Style

Ever since Chase Goehring appeared on America’s Got Talent this week, JJJ kind of can’t get his song “Hurt” out of our minds.

So, obviously, we had to seek out the talented musician’s other music — and we were not disappointed at all!

Did you also know that Chase was on the X Factor, too?!

“A lot of people would come up to me and ask, ‘Were you on The X Factor?’ I would be like, ‘Yeah,’ and answer any questions,” he shared in an older interview we found. “But there wasn’t anything dramatic, like a mob when I walked down the hallway.”

Chase also talked about his inspirations in his musical style, citing Jake Shimabukuro and Eminem.

“He’s [Jake] like the greatest ukulele player ever and he inspired me to start taking ukulele,” he said. “After that, Eminem inspired me to be a rapper. I used to want to be like a little white clean Eminem.”

He adds about his songwriting inspiration, “[It's] honestly from Twitter and from my fans and what they tell me. So it’s just a lot of little miscellaneous things that come together when I write a song.”
