Fifth Harmony are super proud of their band’s name — because it was chosen by their fans.

The ladies — Normani Kordei, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui and Dinah Jane — opened up to MTV News recently about what went into the decision not to change it.

“It was obviously a thought, because it was a prevalent thing that there’s 4 of us not 5,” Lauren shared. “Regardless, we were all very united in the fact that we didn’t want to change the name.”

She adds, “We felt like within ourselves, no, Fifth Harmony is the name we grew up with and we worked for and it’s our brand, it’s who we are, it’s our entire moments, it’s what we spent five years on.”

“The fans named us Fifth Harmony,” Dinah reminded everyone. “And now they’re the fifth member.”
