J.K. Rowling Marks Harry Potter's 20th Anniversary With Special Message to Fans
On this day in 1997, Bloomsbury published J.K. Rowling‘s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in the U.K, and readers everywhere learned about The Boy Who Lived.
The author took to social media to ring in the 20th anniversary with a heartfelt note to fans.

“20 years ago today a world that I had lived in alone was suddenly open to others,” she tweeted. “It’s been wonderful. Thank you. #HarryPotter20.”
Bloomsbury is set to release four new editions of the book, one for each house at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in honor of the anniversary.
“She had a vision,” Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginny Weasley in the films, added. “Congratulations @jk_rowling #HarryPotter20.”
