Mona Vanderwaal Had The Perfect Ending on 'Pretty Little Liars' Series Finale, Janel Parrish Says
Mona Vanderwaal has been through it all on Pretty Little Liars — so the fact that she got a sweet little ending was perfect.
Janel Parrish spoke to EW after the finale about Mona’s happily ever after — moving to Paris and winning the game.
“I thought it was a perfect ending for everybody, but especially for Mona,” Janel says. “…She moved to Paris, which she’s always been obsessed with, she has her love and her dolls, and literally her dolls in her dollhouse underneath her shop.”
She also spoke on Mona’s journey through the final season and finally being able to say that Mona is one of the Liars.
“We saw her struggle a little bit with the dark side when she was playing the game,” Janel shared. “She definitely had a mental breakdown and a lot of that was due to her guilt from killing Charlotte and not ever telling anybody that secret. The game plays with you in so many ways and I think that’s how it played with Mona was it got her to that breaking point of her guilt.”
She adds, “I do think that she left her evil ways and switched over to a Liar, in my opinion, after the dollhouse, having that traumatic experience with all of them.”
