Two of Ed Sheeran's Most Popular Songs Get Very Different Reactions

We all have our favorite Ed Sheeran songs (ours is actually “Tenerife Sea”), but two of his most popular ones — “Thinking Out Loud” and “Galway Girl” — get the most reactions out of fans.

Two different reactions, that is.

“‘Thinking Out Loud’ is the song, worldwide, that if I didn’t play, people would be like, ‘That was weird!’,” Ed shared in a recent interview with EW.

He adds, “But as long as people react well to a song, I don’t care how many times I play it. I’m always going to be in love with it.”

While people will never not be in love with “Thinking Out Loud”, “Galway Girl” gets an opposite reaction.

“[It's] is a weird one; I’ve never put out a song before that’s polarized people so much,” Ed says. “People really, really hate it!”

“It, like, offends them that the song exists. But I do think, in five or 10 years, those same people will be dancing to it on St. Patrick’s Day, drunk at the bar.”
