Descendants 2 actress China Anne McClain recently has been embracing her (admittedly gorgeous) natural hair and challenging societal beauty expectations in the process.

In a powerful new Instagram post, the 18-year-old “What’s My Name?” singer continues to encourage her fans to love exactly who they are.

“Embrace the things about you that aren’t perfect,” she writes, “Don’t feel like you have to hide them. Embrace the zits/acne scars. Embrace the stretch marks. Embrace that beautiful little crooked tooth. They are what make us unique and special. They are what make you, YOU. #BattleScars.”

She also shared three selfies of her face without any makeup, looking radiant.
