Olivia Holt Spills On The Challenge Marvel's 'Cloak & Dagger' Will Bring For Her

Olivia Holt will be heading back to filming on her new Freeform series, Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, really soon.

The actress and singer isn’t supposed to really talk about plot details or anything, but she is giving us a little something in her new interview with HuffPo’s The Tea newsletter.

“I am really looking forward to everyone seeing it,” Olivia says. “It’s a really honest show, and even though it’s about two superheroes, it really brings this truth behind kids who grow up in a broken home.”

She adds, “For the audience who doesn’t know about the comic, I think they’re really going to love it. And for the audience that grew up reading the comics, I think they’re going to love it even more.”

Olivia also talked about the darkness of the show and the challenge it brings for her.

“It’s definitely a challenge, but it’s a good challenge for me,” she says. “Working with Disney for as long as I did — it was the perfect place for me at that time. That’s exactly what I needed to be doing and everything I needed to be learning.”

She adds, “Now, moving onto other roles and darker material, it’s giving me a chance to expand my range.”

The series is set to premiere in 2018 on Freeform.
