Paul Wesley Talks Directing 'Shadowhunters' & Being Majorly Impressed With The Cast

Paul Wesley‘s episode of Shadowhunters is coming up this week!

The director and former Vampire Diaries star spoke with TVGuide about the episode, teasing an intense arc ahead for the characters.

During his time on the set, Paul was blown away by all the stars of the show, too.

“I just thought they all were so generous with their time and with their effort and just making me feel comfortable and welcome,” he says.

Will Tudor (Sebastian) was a big stand out for him: “One of the actors that had — I would say — the most intense arc in the episode was Will Tudor. He had the most sort of verbose scenes and did a really wonderful job. I knew he was good, I’d heard he’s great, but I was impressed with his work.

Paul went on to speak about his directing style and how he approached the intense scenes coming up.

“Particularly in genre, like supernatural genre, everything is so big in terms of the elements,” he shares. “You have portals and special effects and CGI and green screen, so when it comes to the actual emotion, I always try to tone it down as much as possible. That was kind of the direction we went in.”
