Pentatonix's Kirstin Maldonado Dishes On How She Found Her Solo Sound
Kirstin Maldonado is all over New York City right now, promoting her new solo EP, Love.
The singer and Pentatonix group member stopped by Build Series today (July 26) to dish about her music.
Just the day before, Kirstin opened up to the Elvis Duran Show on how she found her particular solo sound.
“Honestly, I had really amazing writers that I worked with and we went into the studio and we didn’t have any pretense on what it needed to be or like what I wanted to sound like,” she shared. “It was free rein, free territory.”
Kirstin adds, “It was always kind of hard with Pentatonix too, because you have to go in thinking like this needs to be an a capella song and we’d like it to feel poppier.”
But her solo sound was much different.
“With this, it was nice just because I felt like I could just say whatever and do whatever and the sound kind of just formed, which was really cool.”
