Maia Mitchell Was Really Worried About Being a Good Role Model After Her US Television Debut

You never really notice it, but there’s actually a lot of pressure for young stars to be good role models — and Maia Mitchell knows that all too well.

The Fosters actress recently chatted with Grazia about the pressure she faced and it happened all around the time she was making her US debut in the series and in Teen Beach Movie.

“When I first started working in the US I was constantly anxious about whether I was acting as a ‘good role model’ and how articulate or eloquent I was coming across in interviews, social media, whatever,” Maia says.

“I’m completely past that now, but I wish I hadn’t let it affect me so much, especially during an exciting time for me.”

Instead of enjoying everything was happening, Maia was constantly worrying about how she was answering questions and what she was saying.

Maia adds, “Although, dealing with that has definitely helped me to let go of things I don’t really have control over and made me more solid in myself.”
