Janel Parrish Is Proud To Play An Asian-American Sandy in 'Grease'

Janel Parrish just revealed her super secret new role — and it’s everyone’s dream role!

The former Pretty Little Liars actress, who can’t get anyone to spell her name right at Starbucks, will be playing Sandy in Grease in Toronto!

“I’m beyond excited to return to the stage,” Janel shared in a release. “Sandy has been a dream role of mine since I was a child, and a role I never thought I would be asked to play.

“As an Asian American woman, I’m thrilled to be able to say I can play Sandy.”


When JJJ spoke with Janel recently, she was revealed that she’s always been a Broadway baby.

“[It was a] dream come true,” she told us about showcasing her singing skills on PLL. “I’ve always been a Broadway baby so to be able to share that on our show…awesome.”

Katie Findlay and Dylan S. Wallach also star in the Toronto production.
