Grace VanderWaal Was A Bundle of Nerves For Her 'America's Got Talent' Performance

You wouldn’t have known it by looking at her and watching her on stage yesterday, but Grace VanderWaal was actually really nervous for her America’s Got Talent return!

The reigning champ hit the Dolby Theatre stage in Hollywood to perform her song “Moonlight”, and killed it obviously, but she was a bundle of nerves backstage.

“You know when you smell that familiar smell? And it’s that weird feeling in your stomach where you’re trying to remember that smell?” Grace recalled to USA TODAY.


“Then it’s just a green air of anxiety just filling out my lungs. That’s what it’s like.”

Grace added later, “I’m just praying to God it went well on TV.”
