Grace VanderWaal's 'Moonlight' Was Inspired By Her Own Life & Wasn't Intended to Bring Awareness to Mental Health

The young singer told USA Today recently about the true intentions for her new song “Moonlight”.

“I wrote about it because, I don’t know, it was something happening at the time,” she shared. “And I always write about whatever’s happening in the moment in my life.”

Grace adds that bringing awareness to mental health and depression.

“Yeah, but I never thought I would write this to build awareness, or anything like that,” she said. “I was just writing from my own personal heart, to get it out.”
