AGT Ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer Dishes On Her New 'Awkward' Puppet Oscar

If you’re not in love with Darci Lynne Farmer‘s newest puppet, Oscar, by now, you will be soon.

Oscar made his debut on last week’s first quarterfinals show of America’s Got Talent, with a song dedicated just to Mel B, who gave Darci Lynne the golden buzzer.

She spoke with Parade after her stunning performance and revealed just how Oscar came about.

“My parents and I were sitting in the living room thinking of ideas for new characters, and my mom said, ‘What if you have a character that is really awkward?’ I said, ‘Oh, maybe he should be afraid to talk to girls,’ so that’s how Oscar got started,” she shared.

And his awkwardness is what Darci Lynne loves most about him.

She adds, “He gets super nervous around girls, and he’s kind of nerdy because he has his little glasses on. He’s just a really cute fellow. I love him.”

We do too, Darci Lynne!
