Kelsea Ballerini's Upcoming Album Is All About Self Discovery
Kelsea Ballerini glitters in gold on stage during the 11th Annual ACM Honors held at the Ryman Auditorium on Wednesday night (August 23) in Nashville, Tenn.
During the event, the singer who received the Gene Weed Milestone Award, performed her hit single “Legends”, as well as a medley of her #1 hits “Dibs,” “Love Me Like You Mean It,” and “Peter Pan.”
Speaking with Vulture recently about her next album that drops in November, Kelsea revealed that the entire album is about self discovery.
“I think it’s just self-discovery, that it’s okay to be a little bit mad. It’s okay to write from that point of view,” Kelsea says. “…The first four songs is that, just angsty, dark, but kind of ending in, ‘Bye, I’m going to go figure out who I am now.’”
She continues, “The middle is just settling into who I am at 23 and knowing that that’s going to change tomorrow, but today this is who I am. And then going into that moment where you’re like, ‘I wasn’t expecting this, but here it is. Love is how this is gonna end.’”
“To put it simply, it’s loss, life and love,” Kelsea shared. “If you really listen to it as a story, it’s chronological. It’s how it happened.”
FYI: Kelsea wore an Elisabetta Franchi bodysuit and pants, Jasmine Elizabeth heels, and Gabriel & Co. jewels.
