Sabrina Carpenter Marks Return to Acting With 'The Hate U Give'

Sabrina Carpenter has picked out the best project to mark her return to acting with new flick, The Hate U Give.

The singer/actress joins Amandla Stenberg, Russell Hornsby and Regina Hall in the big screen adaptation of Angela Thomas‘ debut novel, THR reports.

The Hate U Give centers on Starr (Stenberg) who grew up in a poverty-stricken slum, but now attends a suburban prep school.

After she witnesses a police officer shoot her unarmed best friend, she’s torn between her two very different worlds as she tries to speak her truth.

Sabrina will play Hailey, one of Starr’s friends from her prep school.
