Miley Cyrus Talks Embracing the Old Miley in Her 'Younger Now' Music Video

Miley Cyrus used to want nothing more than to distance herself from her Hannah Montana past, but in her new video for “Younger Now” she is embracing it as just one of the many parts of who she is.

“Now I can be proud of all the Mileys that I’ve ever been instead of trying to run away from the 11-year-old one or feel like I’m not Hannah Montana,” the 24-year-old singer told MTV. “I am stoked that that was a part of my life. I’m not afraid of who I used to be. No one stays the same.”

As for fans who have been pointing out similarities between Miley‘s new video and her past ones, she promises that’s all coincidence.

“Even though I wasn’t intentionally trying to reenact something I had already done, it just naturally happened,” she said, “because that’s a part of me too.”
