Gabi DeMartino Reveals Silent Battle With Hypothyroidism & Hashimoto's Disease

Gabi DeMartino surprised a lot of people last month when she went back to her natural brunette hair color.

It turned out that the singer and digital star had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s disease and her blonde hair was reminding her of a place and mindset she didn’t like.

Now, Gabi is further explaining her story to her fans, about the struggles she went through and is still going through now.

“I’m not saying there was anything wrong with how I looked when I was blonde, but I was silently battling hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s disease all year and I had no idea,” she wrote. “I was swollen and larger than my usual, and I was just swallowing the fact that maybe my body was maturing.”

And that wasn’t the case at all.

Gabi adds later that on top of all that, she was also battling anorexia and bulimia too.

“I would never eat because I knew if I ate ONE thing you would see it on my stomach like I was 4 months pregnant,” she writes. “The answer appeared in my blood work as to why I looked the way I did. Had I gone in for blood work 9 months before, I would have spared myself killing the insides of my body.”

Right now, Gabi is taking her medications, eating healthy again and she feels so much better.

“[I'm] working out a lot, lost 20 lbs, and I look and feel BETTER than ever. I finally look the way I always did.”
