Camila Cabello Says 'Havana' Was the 'Hardest Song to Write'

Camila Cabello poured her heart and soul into her single “Havana” (even Justin Bieber is a fan) and in a new interview she opens up about what the song means to her.

“I wanna kill for this song,” the 20-year-old singer joked to Z100 Radio. “I’m so proud of it and it’s such a big part of me.”

She also revealed that the song took months and months to write.

“It started out as just a title in my phone,” Camila explained. “It was the hardest song to write. The verse was rewritten five different times. We had the chorus first and it felt so good and the verse took awhile to feel really good. The chorus we started in January. It’s September.”

The fact that she spent so many months perfecting the song illuminates Camila‘s work ethic and dedication to releasing strong music.
