Madelaine Petsch Explains That Fan Encounter Quote: 'They're Very Sweet'

Madelaine Petsch recalled an “overwhelming” fan encounter in a recent interview, but now she’s clarifying that her fans do not scare her — quite the opposite.

“It wasn’t a scary fan encounter, it was my first ever fan encounter,” she told Teen Vogue. “It was just overwhelming. Like they ran straight at me, but by no means do I ever get scared by fans.”

In fact, Madelaine credits her fans in many ways for helping her grapple with fame.

“It’s weird to say this, but I think the fans are actually helping ease me into it,” she continued. “They’re kind of teaching me the ropes and they’re very helpful and they’re very sweet. I haven’t had one negative fan encounter yet. I’m always down to take a photo.”
