Freeform's 'Siren' Will Premiere on the Brand-New International Mermaid Day

First of all, check out this photo from Freeform’s LIVE MERMAID EXHIBIT at 2017 New York Comic Con in support of its upcoming show Siren. How cool is that?

Second of all, at the show’s panel on Saturday (October 7) in New York City, the new drama series got a premiere date.

Siren will hit our TV screens on March 29 at 8 p.m. EST with a special two-hour episode.

But wait, it gets better: March 29 is now officially International Mermaid Day. Seriously!

Also announced during the panel was the casting of Grandfathered‘s Aylya Marzoff and Hap and Leonard‘s Sedale Threatt Jr., who will both join the cast in recurring roles. Aylya will portray Katrina, an alpha leader of the mermaid colony, while Sedale will portray Levi, a warrior merman with an imposing presence.

Here’s the synopsis: In the mermaid-obsessed sea town of Bristol Cove, everyone’s lives will change when actual mermaids come ashore, which soon causes a war.

We can’t wait! In the meantime, watch a sneak peek below.
