Demi Lovato Reveals She Relapsed With Her Eating Disorder This Past Summer
Demi Lovato dropped her documentary Simply Complicated on Youtube today, and we’re learning so much about her.
The 25-year-old “Sorry Not Sorry” singer reveals that she had to grapple with her eating disorder this past June when she relapsed after missing an ex-boyfriend.
“I relapsed with throwing up, binging and purging, a couple nights ago,” the powerhouse entertainer tells her manager, Phil McIntyre, in the documentary.
“What started the relapse was missing Wilmer,” she continues, referring to her ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.
Demi continues to analyze her own actions, realizing that her loneliness spurs her relapses.
“When I feel lonely, my heart feels hungry and then I end up binging.”
It’s brave of her to speak out about her vulnerabilities and deepest struggles and to help other survivors realize that they are not alone.
