The 'Wizards of Waverly Place' Creator Wants to Create a PG-13 'High-Budget' Reunion Movie

Wizards of Waverly Place has been off our screens for over five years, but creator Todd J. Greenwald isn’t ready to say goodbye yet.

The mastermind behind the series wants to create both a prequel series with new actors and a theatrical movie with the Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, and the rest of the cast.

“It would have to be a full-fledged theatrical,” he told International Business Times.

“Definitely mature,” Todd continued. “Definitely just not the same ‘Wizards’ we’re used to. It’s the same characters, but it’s much more high-budget, mature and that would be cool. Definitely PG-13.”

As for the plot, it would “have to be some big, end-of-the-universe thing that Alex and Justin would be saving, or not. But playing with the time-space continuum is always fun, but treacherous. Just to see them older.”

He also has some questions he wants answered: “Does Alex have kids or not? Is Justin still at WizTech? Is Max still at the sub station? Do we even age it up and say that Jerry and Theresa got a divorce? You can go there.”

We’re definitely on-board to find out the answer to all of these questions.

Your move, Selena!
