Camila Cabello Offers Advice for Spotting Fake Friends

Camila Cabello is sharing her best advice for distinguishing your real friends from your fake friends.

The “Havana” singer opened up while speaking with Elle about her stunning new Guess campaign.

“I think the only way to know is time,” Camila said. “I feel like there are instances and circumstances in your life that always change.”

“You can think someone’s your friend, and it could be out of convenience, or there was something in it for them, or whatever,” she continued. “And a year later, something happens and you really need help, or all of a sudden they have to stand up for you, and it could be inconvenient for them or not benefit them. And they don’t have your back. And you’re like, ‘Ok, that friendship was circumstantial. You were only my friend when it was easy.’ What’s hard is you can’t tell from the beginning.”

“So many people have disappointed me,” she added. “And there’s also been so many people – not so many, but a few people who make everything worth it, stick through it, and they show loyalty. And no matter what goes down, seas or rough or calm Sunday afternoon, those are people that are worth it. You die for those people.”
