Zendaya's Family Was The Inspiration Behind Her Fro at the InStyle Awards

Zendaya made heads turn at the 2017 InStyle Awards last night with her amazing fro hairstyle — and her inspiration for her entire look came straight from her family.

“I think we started with the ‘fro. We definitely wanted to do a ‘fro for sure,” the former K.C. Undercover star told PeopleStyle at the event about her look.

She continued, “The dress is also a bit of a statement itself. The hair, to me, seems very simple and contained, and kind of goes with it.”

“I think I’m always just very inspired by the fashion of the decades,” Zendaya added. “When you go back in time and kind of explore those silhouettes and kind of find a modern way to do it, everything in fashion just repeats…so I love exploring with different things from different decades. It’s fun.”
