Sabrina Carpenter is Inspired By Rihanna: 'It's Very Effortless For Her'

Sabrina Carpenter has a lot of musical influences, but there is one that stands apart from the rest: Rihanna.

When asked by a fan which singer inspires her the most, the 18-year-old “Why” singer knew the answer.

“This is hard because I think growing up I had a lot of different influences as far as singing goes,” she told Billboard in a video interview. “But these past couple years of my life it’s been Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna.”

When asked to elaborate, Sab was all too happy to do so.

“It’s very effortless for her,” she explained. “That’s exactly what artistry should be. It should just be you. It should just exude everything that you are and I feel like she’s a very good example of that.”
