Charlie Puth Won't Be Confirming If He's Dating Danielle Campbell Anytime Soon

Rumors lit up the internet last month when fans noticed that Charlie Puth and Danielle Campbell might be a couple.

After a shared FaceTime attempt (with her name blacked out), and Instagram likes between the two, fans put two and two together on their relationship.

However, don’t expect Charlie to confirm that he and Danielle are an item.

“My whole thing is, I had such trouble when everything landed in the public even when I didn’t want it to and there were times I was like, ‘Oh I’m with this person, that’s kind of cool’ because this whole fame thing is so brand new to me, and it never ended well,” Charlie shared on the Bizarre Life with Dan Wootton podcast about just why he doesn’t want to have his relationship go public.

He adds that his wanting to keep his relationship private stemmed from advice from his mom.

“It ended with my mom calling me saying, ‘Why am I seeing you on this show and I’m going to the supermarket and seeing you on the front cover of this magazine, people aren’t going to see you as the musician,’” he shared about what his mom told him. “‘They’re just seeing you for all this stuff.’ So with all due respect, whatever you read, it’s whatever.”

So, Dan kept it general and asked if he’s happy and obviously, Charlie is — and this also means he’s inspired to work on new songs.

“That’s really all that matters because when I’m happy, I can make good music. If I’m unhappy, I can’t make good music. So I’ll say yes, I’m very happy in my life right now,” he said.
