Even Shawn Mendes Gets Sick of Hearing His Music Sometimes

You know how sometimes, you’ll turn on the radio, or satellite radio and you’ll hear the same song just minutes apart from the first time it was played? Isn’t that the most annoying thing?

Well, Shawn Mendes is right there with you — and even he knows that his songs get a lot of airplay like that.

“I definitely get sick of myself a lot, that’s true, but it’s not a bad thing,” he admitted in a new interview with Stellar.

Shawn says that while he gets sick of hearing his song sometimes, he’s truly grateful for it too.

“People tend to forget that, just as fast as it comes, it can all go away,” he shared. “So, while I’m here, I’ll be gracious and eat it up, because, one day, I might be begging for people to play me on the radio.”

Shawn adds, “To be honest, I was 15 when I started doing this; it’s normal for me. It’s almost like living with a weird toe. Somebody might ask, ‘doesn’t it bug you?’ And you’re like, ‘I’ve always had that toe.’”
