Yara Shahidi Talks About Tackling Tough Issues on New Show 'Grown-ish'

Yara Shahidi rocks a pair of eye catching blue boots while heading back to her hotel in New York City on Tuesday night (January 2).

The next day, Yara stopped by both Good Morning America and The View to chat about her brand new series, grown-ish, premiering tonight on Freeform.

“We’re trying to talk about, similarly to black-ish, the different views that every character has on drug addiction,” Yara teased about a particularly tough issue that the show will cover.

She adds, “But just talking about how normalized certain drug culture is on campus and what kids are stepping into and inheriting basically from these pre-setup institutions.”

grown-ish will premiere @ 8PM ET/PT with back-to-back episodes.
