Dove Cameron Wants To Turn Times Up Instagram Situation Into Something Educating

Just yesterday, Dove Cameron took to Instagram to stand up for her beliefs and her fans after a bully tried to tear down what the Times Up movement was all about at the Golden Globes this weekend.

“The energy I felt was unparalleled, incomparable, and so deeply touching. An electric shock to the heart. A day I’ll never forget. I am truly humbled,” the Dumplin’ actress wrote about her experience at the event.

Moments later though, an internet bully came to criticize the movement. You can read her full response to that here on JJJ.

Late last night though, Dove addressed the situation again, hoping to turn it all into something educating rather than more drama.

“I do think that what you said implies that you think award shows and your level of enjoyment is MORE important than acknowledging the struggle of both women, and people of color,” Dove wrote, replying to that same internet bully. “THAT is what I believed to be wrong, and terrible ignorant.”

She adds, “I do not think you are a bad person, and I didn’t intend to cause such a storm for you on social media. But I stand by the things I did say. Hope you, and people like you, can grow into people who PRIORITIZE the needs of important issues (even if they don’t directly impact you and your life) more than you prioritize your enjoyment of a night of television. Have a good day.”
