Holly Marie Combs Calls Out Newly Announced 'Charmed' Reboot

It was just announced that the CW has ordered a pilot for a new, reworked Charmed.

Original Charmed star Holly Marie Combs was none the pleasant with the news, calling out the feminist plot and the work they put in the original.

“Here’s the thing. Until you ask us to rewrite it like Brad Kern did weekly don’t even think of capitalizing on our hard work,” she said. “Charmed belongs to the 4 of us, our vast amount of writers, crews and predominantly the fans. FYI you will not fool them by owning a title/stamp. So bye.”

As for the feminist storyline, Holly Marie added, “Guess we forgot to do that the first go around. Hmph.”

The new Charmed will follow “three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches. Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done,” according to THR.

This version will be set in present day, unlike the one that was shopped around last year that was held in 1976 and centered on three witches who had no relation.
