Grace VanderWaal Talks Balancing School, Friends & Music All At Once in New Documentary

Grace VanderWaal is officially a super human.

In a new documentary with UPROXX and Honda, the “City Song” musician opened up about life since America’s Got Talent and how she truly balances a budding music career with being a 13-year-old.

“I feel like personally, this has been the worst year of my life. And then career wise, this has been the best year of my life,” she confesses in the video.

In keeping up with school and music at the same time, Grace reveals that she “once had to finish the 7th grade in one night. Before the deadline.”

If you think you have pressure with midterms and final exams coming up, just think about Grace had to take all of her tests and finals in just three days.

Grace also opened up about still wanting to be a regular 13-year-old at the end of the day, but isn’t sure that’s entirely possible.

“I lost sight of that right after America’s Got Talent, and that’s when I was doing online school,” she says. “I kind of had no social interaction with young kids, like only adults. And it made me extremely socially awkward because of it. Because I didn’t know how to talk to kids that aren’t my fans.”
