'Stranger Things' Season 3 Will Only Have 8 Episodes

Stranger Things will go back to eight episodes for season three, TVLine reports.

The series, which stars Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo and Sadie Sink, will lose an episode for the upcoming season. Season two featured nine episodes on Netflix.

Showrunner Matt Duffer previously revealed that there would be a year time jump as well.

“Even if we wanted to hop into the action faster, we couldn’t,” he shared. “Our kids are aging. We can only write and produce the show so fast. They’re going to be almost a year older by the time we start shooting Season 3… [so] it forces you to do a time jump.”

Stranger Things seasons one and two are currently streaming on Netflix.
