'13 Reasons Why' Season Two Will Not Be Delayed By Author Jay Asher's Harassment Allegations

While we still don’t know when 13 Reasons Why season two will premiere, there will not be any delay because of author Jay Asher‘s violating a harassment code from the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Netflix confirmed with EW that, “Jay Asher was not involved in the second season of 13 Reasons Why. The upcoming season will not be impacted in any way.”

Earlier this week, news broke that Jay Asher and another author had “been expelled from the SCBWI” and were “not welcome as members, faculty or speakers … There is a zero tolerance policy for harassment, there is a preponderance [of] powerful and respected women on our board, on our staff, and in our membership.”

While he was expelled late last year, the news only became public this week after he was mentioned in a School Library Journal article on sexual harassment in children’s publishing.

If you missed it, season two of the hit series will concentrate more on Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice) and the aftermath of Hannah’s (Katherine Langford) suicide.
