'A Wrinkle in Time's Storm Reid Was Inspired By This Magical Movie Growing Up

Storm Reid is starring in A Wrinkle in Time, which is inevitably going to be the magical movie of a generation.

While speaking with Collider about the impact the movie will have on audiences everywhere, the 14-year-old actress looked to her own past of another movie that inspired her.

“The movie I love, to this day, that I used to watch on repeat was Matilda,” Storm reveals. “It’s a silly story, but when you really look at it, it’s heartwarming and a really special story.”

“You see this little girl that is so smart and who was dedicated,” she continues. “It inspired me, and it inspires other girls, too. You should always be dedicated and know that, if you strive to do something, you can achieve it. That really sticks with me, and I love it.”

In fact, Storm cites Matilda as being one of the movies that inspired her to become an actress.

“I started when I was three,” she remembers. “I think it was watching Matilda, over and over again. I just went up to my mom one day and said, ‘I wanna be on TV. I wanna be a superstar!’”

A Wrinkle in Time hits theaters on Friday, March 9th.
