Maia & Alex Shibutani Made Team USA Hats For BTS - Here's What Happened To Them
Right when the Olympics kicked off, figure skaters Maia and Alex Shibutani revealed that they made customized hats for K-pop band, BTS.
So, what happened to them?
“We were able to hand off the hats, not directly to BTS, but [to] people that we trust will be able to deliver them. They are in transit at the moment,” they shared in a recent interview with Elle.
However, it looks like the hats already made it to the band — because Jin and V were spotted with them! Check out the pics below!
Maia and Alex also spoke about how they were able to connect with BTS and other K-pop stars because of the universal language of music.
“People all around the world are connecting because the music is good, the dancing is good, the talent is so evident,” Alex shared. “Music is one of those universal languages that everyone can understand. In a lot of ways, we had to do the same thing being different in our sport. We had to make sure that our talent spoke louder than anyone’s preconceived notions.”
He adds, “The message they promote through their music is also very positive and we wanted to show our appreciation.”
Hey fam! @MaiaShibutani and I have these awesome hats for the guys and we want to make sure they receive them. How do we make this happen? @BTS_twt @bts_bighit #BTSArmy pic.twitter.com/U6oOPgckKx
