Lucy Hale On Stella's Cancer in 'Life Sentence': 'It's Always Possible It Could Come Back'

Lucy Hale‘s Stella in Life Sentence might be cured from cancer at the moment, but there’s still a chance it could come back.

In a recent interview with Variety, the 28-year-old actress chatted about the off chance that it might just do that and how Stella would respond.

“Yes, it’s always possible that it could come back,” she admits, but as we all saw in the pilot episode, Stella went through this rare treatment that cured it all.

Lucy explains that the treatment she went through is a real thing.

“Basically what these doctors do is they take these viruses that are normally kill people, so Stella will be injected with the AIDS virus so that virus kills all the cancer cells and leaves all the healthy cells alone, and thankfully cures her cancer,” she shared. “It actually is a real treatment that they do. It’s very rare, and it’s still in beginning stages, but it is a real thing.”

Right now, Stella is cured, however, “there is always the possibility that it could come back.”

Life Sentence airs TONIGHT @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.
