Musician Bridgit Mendler Starts A Graduate Program at MIT Focusing on Social Media

Ever since the release of her song “Diving”, Bridgit Mendler has been MIA.

Many fans, including us, have been wondering just where she’s gone – and the answer is MIT!

Bridgit explained on Twitter this morning that she’s actually starting a graduate program at MIT.

“[This] means I’m gonna be juggling a couple things for a little while. Two important things about this: First, the reason why I’m taking this time out to study is very connected to how i feel about social media. As an entertainer, for years I struggled with social media because I felt like there was a more loving and human way to connect with fans. That is what I’m going to study.”

“I would love it if you would help me learn from your experience and teach me and we can build something better together :),” Bridgit adds.

You’ve probably seen her reach out to her fans for help and feedback on their opinions about social media.

However, don’t worry about her music, because Bridgit assures fans she’ll still be working on that, too.

Bridgit continues, “Second, I will continue to put out music because it is a part of me and I also want to continue to connect with my fans in that way. It will likely be at a slower pace but know that I am working on it! I will keep you up to date on releases and such.”

“Overall I just hope that this time can be an adventure and I have a thousand ideas I want to share with you so please stay tuned!”
