Joseph Morgan Talks About How He Felt After 'The Originals' Was All Wrapped

We still have a handful of episodes to before we have to say goodbye to The Originals, but for Joseph Morgan, it’s been over for a while.

Speaking with US Weekly, the actor opened up about the emotions he felt when the last scene was wrapped.

“We did one day in New Orleans at the very end and we did a couple of scenes and at the end it was wrapped. We did little speeches and hugs about stuff. It was pretty emotional and then everybody packed up and left,” Joseph recalls.

He adds, “I remember sort of standing there feeling like everyone’s gone. I’m just kind of standing in New Orleans unemployed and alone. I had friends and my wife was with me as well, thank goodness. And some of the cast were with me as well, but you feel like wow. That’s it, it’s done. It’s a joy and a sadness at once, is the only way I can describe it. It’s a plethora of feelings.”

Was there anything in particular he took from the set? You bet!

“The henleys. As many henleys as I could carry,” Joseph jokes. “I sort of took a last look at my dressing room that I’ve been in for five years and you think, ‘Is there anything else I can steal? No, I’ve got it all.’”

However, he did take the “name tag off the door. That’s probably worth something.”

The Originals airs Wednesdays on The CW.

Hayley Marshall is the first female lead in the TVD/TheOriginals universe who chose morals over love, didn’t crumple under pressure but thrived in it,and wasn’t used as a way to keep the male leads “good” like what was done with Elena/Damon, Caroline/Klaus, Cami/Klaus, Davina/Kol. Feminism is important to the world now and without Hayley Marshall it’s just another patriarchical show

Julie Plec seems to have a problem with moms, she constantly kills them in her show. She killed off Katie in Containment, Jo in TVD, and now she want to do the same in TO. It’s really disgusting. It looks like that Julie Plec thinks the only mother who deserves to live is Caroline. It is disgusting that Julie Plec think it is ok to kill off a mother, to make a place for Caroline.

Hayley Marshall is a big part of TO. Hayley has grown into a much better person because of her daughter. Hayley didn’t get the chance to fully know her mother so Hope should be able to get that chance. Hope will only be 15 that is very young to lose her mother. Hayley fought for years for the safety of her child even before Hope was born. She deserves every right and happiness with the child she gave life to

Hayley is an amazing character and a great mother. Hayley can’t die. She doesn’t deserve this. Hayley deserves the best ending with Hope. Plec really shouldn’t ruin the The Originals on it’s last season. If Julie Plec kill off Hayley I will boycott this show and I won’t watch anything else Julie Plec has her hands on.

Hayley is one of my favorite characters and my favorite female in the show, she’s badass and amazing! She’s Hopes mother it would be completely wrong to take her away after all that has happened to her daughter.

Hayley Marshall’s character is one of the best ever, it shows how incredibly powerfull women can be, and it’s not fair that she’s being killed, Hayley deserves better, she should be alive

Hayley is the female lead on The Originals. Hayley is a fighter, a legend, she deserves better than what Plec have planned for her. Julie Plec want to kill her off, take away a mother from Hope ,and replaced her by Caroline. It is really disgusting, I didn’t think that Julie Plec would fall so low

  • Kevin Ryan

Hayley is the greatest character of The Originals, her development is breathtaking, her strength, the way she fiercely stands up for those she love, she better have a happy life after all or these five long seasons will mean nothing to Hayley’s fans.

  • Christelle Perez

Hayley is the best character in the originals and she has a such beautiful, singular and genuine heart and spent all those years helping to build every little piece of the show with her narrative, she’s so important! So it would be very unfair to be ruthlessly pulled of the show and Hayley has gone through many horrors, pain, cruelties, atrocities, and always in search of love, happiness and family for years and years and deserves with all strength a happy ending with Hope, a worthy outcome.

The Originals has a very bad habit of killing off it’s female
characters. Male series regular has never suffered the same fate. Hayley is such a strong female character: she doesn’t need anyone but herself – all she wants is to protect her daughter, by taking her away from The Originals Julie Plec ruin The Originals

Really disappointed by Plec, everything about this final season has been completely ruined by Hayley death spoiler. Julie Plec could continue to make an amazing show but she chose to ruin everything by killing the female lead . Hayley deserves better and Hope too. I never thought that Julie Plec will fall so low, now I understand why The Originals fans were so worried when Michael Narducci left the show.

This season is really bad, it would be better if TO s4 was the last season
