Yara Shahidi Reveals What She Wants to See on 'grown-ish' Season 2!

Yara Shahidi is reflecting on season one of her hit show grown-ish!

Now that the first season of the hit Freeform show is over, the 18-year-old star is revealing what she’s looking forward to in season two.

“I feel like the end of the season really got into those more political topics like safe spaces that I really appreciated,” Yara told Deadline. “I also love the fact that by the end of the season, Zoey has more of a certain opinion. It seems as though she has her life together, temporarily. I guess I’m looking forward to having some more episodes to play with—the more mundane conversations, and going to class.”

grown-ish has already been picked up for a 20-episode season 2.

“It’s time to choose her major,” Yara continued. “I’m looking forward to the more academic pressure of it, her thinking she has her social stuff figured out from Year 1, once you become a sophomore and feel like you’ve gained all this wisdom. She should take on a freshman mentee, and guide her in all the wrong ways.”
