Tana Mongeau's TanaCon Convention Canceled After Thousands of Fans Show Up
Tana Mongeau‘s TanaCon video convention has been shut down after being overrun by thousands of fans.
The YouTube star held the event in response to the nearby popular online video conference 2018 VidCon this weekend in Anaheim, Calif.
On Friday (June 22), around 20,000 fans – many without tickets – reportedly attempted to crash the party, forcing organizers to try to switch venues at the last minute. On Saturday, the fire marshal was forced to shut the event down entirely due to safely concerns, reports Good Times Live, Tana’s management company.
“Just got word that there are literally 20,000 people outside right now,” Tana tweeted on Friday. “Vid con was expecting 30,000. That’s absolutely insane, and I’m so overwhelmed by that kind of support. I never would’ve thought that this could even happen. 20,000 f–king people wanting to get into my event.”

we are debating adding a third day just to show gratitude for all of the love. maybe just a day where I can really hang out with all you guys because your faces are making me so happy

I know that this is very cliché but please be very safe, respectful of other people, and as calm as you could possibly be an event as dope as this one

straight up there are 20,000 people outside so we are doing everything to get AS MANY people inside as the venue as we can as safely as possible and are doing our best to extend to another day for free completely my loves ❤️

sending hundreds of employees outside to separate the crowd from people with tickets already and people without to get as many people inside as possible! but obviously 20,000 people is insane, i love u guys so much thank u for showing up this much. wow. i'm legit sobbing

— TANACON (@tanamongeau) June 22, 2018

— TANACON (@tanamongeau) June 23, 2018
just because there are bumps in the road I don't want to discourage any small creator from ever thinking that they shouldn't speak up or try to make change. I want you to know that I am so determined to make a space that is safe & happy for creators & fans NOT TO MAKE MONEY
— TANACON (@tanamongeau) June 23, 2018
but i do want to say that the meet & greets, panels, & wedding that did take place meant so much to me. it should've been done in a bigger space tho which is why we're working on that. but to see creators & fans meeting & having actual fun did make my soul happy.all i ever wanted
— TANACON (@tanamongeau) June 23, 2018
and I just wanna say thank you to @KEEMSTAR and every creator who believes in the movement of all of us actually having a voice, being treated well, and actually meeting our fans for free.
— TANACON (@tanamongeau) June 23, 2018
