Krista Marie Yu Joins 'Last Man Standing' as Exchange Student Jen

Krista Marie Yu has just joined Fox’s Last Man Standing reboot, TVLine reports.

The former Dr. Ken actress will star as Jen, the foreign exchange student coming to live with the Baxters.

Jen will be introduced in Episode 4 of the series when Vanessa (Nancy Travis) takes the young scholar under her wing and convinces Mike (Tim Allen) to let her stay with them while she completes her schooling in the States.

“Vanessa feels particularly tied to [Jen] because she’s interested in geology,” exec producer Kevin Abbott shared. “Vanessa’s always wanted to encourage [young women] to go into the sciences.”

The role of Jen will shake up the series even more, as youngest daughter Eve is off to the Air Force Academy. She will also come from a “different political system,” paving the way for some “wonderful discussions and conflicts” within the household.

Just recently, it was announced that Molly McCook will take over the role of middle daughter Mandy, and Jet Jurgensmeyer will be Kristin and Ryan’s son Boyd.

Kaitlyn Dever, who plays Eve, will only be back on a recurring basis

Last Man Standing will debut on Fox on Friday, September 28th.
