Riverdale's Betty Cooper Was Almost Played By This Other Famous Actress

Lili Reinhart is Betty Cooper, and Katherine Langford is Hannah Baker — but those facts could’ve been much different.

According to EW, Katherine was almost cast as Betty on Riverdale!

Camila Mendes revealed that Katherine was definitely in the running to play 1/4 of the core four.

“I remember when I met her, too — I never saw her act, but some people just have a personality that’s so genuine that I’m like, ‘I feel like you’re a really good actor,’” Camila remembered. “They have a presence. I had that feeling with her.”

“I remember we went out and we got falafel with a guy who was auditioning for Archie,” she recalled.

Camila adds, “It’s just so funny to think about that time in my life. I would have never thought in that moment that I would be here, and that she would be where she is. It’s crazy!”

Riverdale returns on October 10th on The CW.
