Kiernan Shipka Dishes On Sabrina's 'Wicked' White Hair For 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'

The last thing you see before the final moments of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix is Kiernan Shipka winking, with her icy white hair and it’s an amazing moment!

In the first season, after fighting it, Sabrina ultimately signs her life over in the season finale, agreeing to serve Satan in exchange for her full powers; and with her full powers came a brand new look which has fans shook.

“It was amazing,” she told ET about the season one arc. “I feel like there’s moments in the first couple of episodes that really pay off in the last couple of episodes that I was personally so excited to play out because it all wrapped up really in a wonderful way.”

Kiernan adds, “It’s been a wild ride, it’s been a crazy character to play. So amazing, so fun. Just to play someone that really does have an arc and growth is just amazing.”

And about that icy white hair, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa reveals that it was in the plans for her.

“That platinum white hair is iconic from the comic books,” he explained. “Sabrina is actually not blonde, she has white hair in the comics. And I remember when we first talked about it when it was in the first script, everyone was like, “Wait a minute, we have to see how this looks.”

“So we took a picture of Kiernan with her white hair and sent it in and everyone lost their minds. They were like, ‘Never go back to the blonde!’ I love the blonde, but the white hair is iconic and she’s still got her headband.”

“That was the last thing we shot before we went on a little week hiatus and no one put that wig on faster that night,” Kiernan adds. “It was really fun to shoot.”
