Princess Leonor of Spain Gives First Public Speech On 13th Birthday
Princess Leonor of Spain just had another milestone – giving her first public speech!
The young royal, who celebrates her 13th birthday today (October 31), took to the podium during the reading of the Spanish Constitution event at the Cervantes Institute in Madrid.
Leonor was joined by her father, King Felipe IV, who looked on as she read out the first of the 169 articles of Spain’s Carta Magna, which was approved by the Spanish Parliament on this day in 1978.
Felipe was also 13 when he read his first speech publicly 31 years ago in 1981.
