Amandla Stenberg Honored With Breakthrough Performance Award at IndieWire Honors 2018

Amandla Stenberg rocks a shorter hairstyle for the 2018 IndieWire Honors held at No Name on Thursday night (November 1) in Los Angeles.

The 19-year-old The Hate U Give actress was honored at the event with the Breakthrough Performance Award for her latest film, along with Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron and Constance Wu.

“Amandla brought a nuanced freshness and youthful spirit to Starr. After 40 days of shooting, it was clear that her commitment never wavered from that first meeting,” THUG director George Tillman, Jr. wrote of Amandla.

The annual event celebrate eight filmmakers and actors for their achievement in creative independence.
