Lana Condor Remembers The Moment She Learned She Didn't Look Like Her Parents

Lana Condor takes over the cover of Who What Wear‘s November 2018 issue, and opens up about her upbringing, her heritage and more.

Check out what the 21-year-old actress shared in the feature:

On being adopted and learning she didn’t look the same as her parents: “I remember coming home one day from school and being like, ‘Mom, what does this mean?’ She was so upset and frustrated. That was the first time I was fully aware that my brother and I didn’t look like my parents.”

On her next role in Deadly Class: “She’s [Saya] the most challenging character I’ve ever had to play in my life. She’s super dark and has very dark humor and is kind of a lone wolf. She’s totally strong and does a lot of fighting.”

On her hidden talent: “I’m a fantastic cook. Recently, I’ve been really into cooking linguine alle vongole: spaghetti with clams. Because here in Vancouver, I found this seafood market—I think it’s called Lobster Man—and I go and get all my seafood from there. That’s currently what I love to make. I love to make ratatouille because I freakin’ love the movie. I love to make curry. I made Jamaican chicken curry for my boyfriend once, and it like knocked us out. We slept for hours. I love cooking! I’m like begging publicity to get me on a cooking show.”
